Previously the county town of Fife and a busy market centre, the charming town of Cupar has held on to much of its medieval character.  There are many historic buildings to explore in the town, including the Mercat Cross, the Old Parish Church and the Corn Exchange, and a whole host of attractions nearby.  Make sure you visit the Hill of Tarvit, two miles south of Cupar – an estate that now belongs to the National Trust for Scotland.
