Riverside Cottage is a detached former bothy built c.1880 which has been renovated to a modern, high standard, luxury self-catering property. Situated in the peaceful, rural village of Boreland the holiday cottage is 7 miles from Lockerbie and the motorway and rail links.

Riverside Cottage’s location is not only a great base for visiting local attractions in Dumfries & Galloway, cycling, walking, golfing and catching the train for a day in Edinburgh or Glasgow but it is also perfect if you just want to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The cottage is perfect for a family, or 1 or 2 couples who are looking for that little bit extra, with comfortable self catering accommodation in a quiet, rural location. If you want to get away from the fast pace of life and feel the need to recharge your batteries, plan your trip to Dumfries & Galloway and make Riverside Holiday Cottage your home from home.

Occupying a stunning riverside location the holiday cottage benefits from glorious views of the surrounding countryside. The self catering property has a wonderful homely charm and features an open plan kitchen/dining/living area, a fabulous sunroom which opens out onto a patio area, electric heating and a wood burning stove. The cottage is all on one level with a small step at the front door and steps down onto the patio.

The open plan kitchen/living/dining area is spacious, light and cosy and offers views of the river and surrounding countryside. In addition to an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, the kitchen area is fully equipped to a high standard.  The oak dining table and chairs provide a comfortable area to eat.

The living area offers wonderful views and is warm and comfortable with a wood burning stove, two sofas and a window seat looking out over the river.  There is a 43″ Smart TV and a DVD player with a good selection of DVDs and a selection of games and books. The ideal place to relax and unwind.

The spacious sunroom offers a peaceful space to chill out, put your feet up, read a book perhaps or just enjoy the views. This room has a sofa, an armchair and a swivel reclining chair. The perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet.

The  shower room has a large walk-in shower.

There is no better way to end the day than to fall asleep to the relaxing sound of the river. Boasting wonderful views of the river and surrounding countryside, the first bedroom offers spacious and comfortable accommodation, with a king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, long wall mirror, two bedside tables and a hairdryer.

The lovely twin-bedded room benefits from a wardrobe with shelving, a large bedside table and long wall mirror.

There is a patio area with outdoor seating leading out from the sunroom which is a perfect place to sit and soak up the views. If you want to find some shade on those lovely sunny days, there is a bench under the trees by the side of the river with views of the surounding countryside. There is also a small grassed area. A rail fence runs along the river bank but please note this is not child proof so care should be taken if children are staying in the cottage.
