It’s all about the awards this month! As well as six EmbraceScotland properties making the regional finals of the upcoming Scottish Thistle Awards there are a number of our properties that were finalists and winners in the recent European Holiday Home Awards 2016! Many congratulations to Craigengar Lodge on winning Best Accessible Holiday Home, Lewis Longhouse on winning Best Green Holiday Home and to all the finalists below.
Best Accessible Holiday Home

Best Green Holiday Home
The Lewis Longhouse is a unique, 5 star holiday home with a Green Tourism Gold Award. Edinbane Self-Catering Cottages are renovated, cosy, traditional stone self-catering cottages near the sea and mountains in the north of Skye. Both cottages sleep 4, ideal for families and couples, and have wood burning stoves and Wi-Fi. Shared facilities include a washing machine, dryer and deep freeze, full access to the croft, trampoline and storage facilities for kayaks and bicycles.
Garden Cottage, Torrisdale Castle
Garden Cottage overlooks the former walled garden at Torrisdale Castle. Sleeping 2, the property consists of a large double bedroom, bathroom, a comfortable sitting room/dining room and a kitchen, newly installed in 2015. There is also an outdoor wood burning eco hot tub in which you can unwind.
Best Pet Holiday Home
Kirkstone Lodge is an architecturally designed pet-friendly property 3 miles from Kingussie and 10 miles from Aviemore. You can walk or cycle straight into the forest from the front door, and there is a hot tub and sauna in the garden in which to relax after a days’ walking or outdoor activities in the Cairngorms National Park.
