Property Description

The Nethergate was built around 1750 and was thought to originally be the manse for the nearby church.
Fully renovated in 2016 into a holiday home, we really hope that we've thought of everything, after spending many holidays in self-catering cottages with our own children and dogs.
The ground floor has a spacious lounge with separate dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and a family bathroom.
Upstairs we have a double bedroom and a twin bedroom which can be converted into a triple. Between the two is a shower room.
For families with children, we have a travel-cot, highchair, baby bath and buggy available as well as a very good selection of toys, books, dvds etc.
For the older children, there is a Wii console and Wifi.
For four-legged guests there are bowls, treats, throws for the sofas and a dogbed.
Our private car park also has an EV charger.
Kinghorn itself is a quiet little village but has good local shops and an ideal base for walks from your doorstep or exploring further in Fife.

We bought and renovated the Nethergate in late 2015, having spent many of our own holidays as a family in self-catering cottages.
Hopefully we've added some quirky and homely touches as well as the essentials.
My other job is a photographer and I've used historic photographs around the cottage to show the history of the local village and the house itself.
In my spare time I play with stained glass, some examples are in the Nethergate. I also like to crew for the local coastal rowing club especially when the dolphins are in the Forth.
John is a keen marathon runner and can give you lots of tips for running from the local Parkruns to more adventurous trails.
We also spend a lot of time out and about with our boys and dogs and try to reflect this on our Facebook page and Instagram feeds @thenethergate and @thedoodsfife
