Property Description

It is an ideal place to relax and unwind in Gothic splendour. Built in Tudor Gothic style, this impressive castellated stone structure enjoys glimpses out across the Firth of Forth. The rooms are furnished in keeping with the history of the building, while providing all the modern amenities you would expect.

There's a magnificent living/dining area on the 1st floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and 2 stone fireplaces, and large wooden dining table. Off this huge room is a well-equipped kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms on the top floor - one with a queen-size bed, one twin and one with a large double. The latter has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The main bathroom has WC, sink, bath and shower over bath. (the small double we recommend for 1 adult or 2 children)

Access to the top floor is either via a main stone staircase or via a fascinating internal spiral stone staircase. Children love to explore this ‘secret’ stairway!

Guests have exclusive use of a private walled garden with a table and chairs. Access to the garden is via a gate at the side of the property. There is also a BBQ for guests use. (Charcoal not included.)

The ground floor office and meeting room at Kinghorn Town Hall are used by Fife Historic Buildings Trust.
Our main office is located just up the hill from the Town Hall and there is usually someone there during office hours should guests have any queries. Please note, there is no lift access. Cot and high chair can be provided on request.

Kinghorn Town Hall is owned and managed by Fife Historic Buildings Trust, a local Building Preservation Trust, formed in 1997, specialising in rescuing derelict historic buildings and giving them a new lease of life. We work in partnership with Fife Council and with community groups to find new users and funding to give a long-term future to historic buildings at risk. Working with Fife Council, we have helped deliver over £30m in historic environment regeneration projects in Fife over 20 years, supporting town centres, businesses, tourism and local communities. Our funders include Fife Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Environment Scotland, the European Regional Development Fund and Fife Environment Trust.

Fife Historic Buildings Trust, have two holiday apartments to let: Kinghorn Town Hall and John McDouall Stuart View, we enjoy being able to welcome the guests to each apartment and are on hand should anyone need anything. The apartments are private so once the main doors are locked you have your complete privacy within the apartments.

By staying in one of our holiday apartments, you will be helping to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of these two properties and other projects throughout Fife.
