The estate is an ideal haven for bird and wildlife enthusiasts boasting walks around the loch and grounds where lie hidden bat boxes, bird nests and a wildlife underworld. The Haining house itself is an attractive Palladian mansion dating from the 1790's and is protected as a category A listed building. The grounds are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens.
Access to the apartment is by a steep staircase which may not be suitable for all guests.
All linen and towels are provided. For those staying for two or more weeks, the apartment is cleaned and linen etc changed once a week.
Please ask about storage arrangements for mountain bikes, fishing gear or golf clubs.
