Outer Hebrides

  • Committed to Quality

Welcome to our two imaginatively designed self-catering lodges on the edge of Stornoway. Metagama and Iolaire feature high vaulted ceilings and oak floors throughout with stylish new kitchens installed in 2022. Metagama has had a luxurious new bathroom fitted in 2023. Both properties sleep 4 in two king-size bedrooms. Dogs welcome.

As well as the fully equipped kitchen and spacious open-plan lounge and dining area with cathedral ceilings, there is an outside decking area with table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining or that first coffee of the morning while planning your day's adventures.

The two king-size ground-floor bedrooms are light and airy with excellent storage and there is mezzanine loft space at the top of the stairs with velvet armchair beanbags which can serve as a children’s play area or just a quiet reading area..

Prints by local artists adorn the walls and Harris tweed soft furnishings showcase the colours of the Hebrides. Metagama offers Sky Glass TV while Iolaire has a Smart TV so you can stream your favourite shows. Books and board games available. Linen and towels are provided along with Arran Aromatics toiletries in the bathroom.

Situated on the edge of Stornoway, Metagama and Iolaire offer the best of both worlds, being just 15 minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants of Stornoway while also providing a quiet, relaxing retreat to return to after a day exploring the history, culture and beaches of both Lewis and Harris. The combination of sea air and our comfortable king-size beds will ensure a good night's sleep. Iolaire Lodge also has the option of a hot tub, perfect for soothing tired limbs after a days hiking.

Among the must-see visitor attractions are the recently renovated Lews Castle, the most iconic building in the Western Isles, and the Museum Nan Eilean, which is set in the castle grounds. Here you can learn about the history of the Outer Hebrides, shaped by a unique combination of land, sea and people. Also on display here are some of the world-famous Lewis Chessmen.

Further afield, don’t forget to visit the Callanish Standing Stones, where you can walk among the megaliths at one of Scotland’s most magnificent and best-preserved Neolithic monuments.

Outdoor activities include wildlife boat trips, beach horse rides, paddleboarding, kayaking, cycling and fishing.

These lodges are the perfect choice both for couples seeking a relaxing, romantic break on the Hebrides, and young families wishing to explore the island and its many beaches.
