Scottish Weather

Kayaking

The Weather is a subject of constant discussion in Scotland and the UK generally. The fascination that the British have with their weather, and the reason it enters into almost every conversation, is its variability.

The climate of Scotland is temperate, and tends to be very changeable, but rarely extreme. Scotland is warmed by the Atlantic’s Gulf Stream. The western coastal areas tend to be warmer, while the east tends to be drier.

Even though the most popular time of year for Scotland is June, July, & August, the best and driest weather is in April / May, and September / October. So be prepared especially if you are planning outdoor activities. "While one glen broods under a cloud, the next may be basking in sunshine".
