About The ASSC
The Association of Scotland's Self-Caterers

Founded in 1978, the ASSC is the only trade body working exclusively for the owners and operators of self-catering businesses in Scotland, with holiday properties ranging from cottages and chalets to flats, lodges and castles.
The ASSC is committed to the principles of quality - comfort, cleanliness, courtesy and efficiency, with overall high and consistent standards of self-catering.
Who can join
To achieve its aims and in order to speak for the whole industry, the ASSC seeks members from all quarters of the sector: owners of single properties; operators making a full or second income from their holiday home business; owners who also let through agencies; and operators of large self-catering complexes.
To have their properties promoted on embracescotland.co.uk, ASSC members are required to be Quality Assured by a recognised Quality Assurance scheme. At the moment, the only independent national scheme for self-catering is that run by VisitScotland, awarding 'STB Stars' and other awards.
The Association also represents and works on behalf of all those involved in self-catering, including those who choose not to join the Quality Assurance scheme. They pay a reduced subscription and receive all the Member benefits apart from marketing. These members are not featured on this website.
